Naturally presenting them in this way helps recycle the coins quickly and cut down costs banking them in larger volumes. In small volumes this process is usually done by hand, coin weighing scales or coin bagging machines (see Coin Counters). While these methods can process the coins they all require someone to perform this very repetitive task. For £1000 of £1 coins you need to pack 1000 coins into 50 small sachets.

To speed this process up and remove the need to perform this task many customers use coin sachet or coin wrapping machines. These wrappers or sachet machines very quickly pack the coins into their required quantities (e.g. 10 x £2, 20 x £1, 20 x 50p, 50 x 20p, 50 x 10p, 100 x 5p, 50 x 2p and 100 x 1p).

The preference between the two usually involves knowing which technology suits your task best.

Sachet Machines

A coin sachet machine is better suited to countries with multisided coins as they are loosely held in small plastic bank bags. The sachet machine creates identical small clear plastic bags for any coin using a single roll of plastic film, a heated cutter and compressed air. You will need to supply compressed air to these machines.

Wrapping Machines

A coin wrapping machine is ideally suited to round coins, they will wrap multisided coins like the English 50p, but as they cannot wrap as tightly and you may find the bindings don't always seal first time. The wrappers initial outlay cost is usually lower and the paper rolls are all individually suited to the coin you are wrapping making them easy to identify.
